Universal Preheater&trade announces the availability of Battery Preheaters&trade for vehicles and equipment. At 0 F. a fully charged battery has only 40% cranking power compared to 100% cranking power at 80 F. Extended cranking in cold weather is considered normal but frequently it results in discharged batteries and immobilized vehicles. Preheating a battery when the thermometer dips helps to insure a good start and good operations.
Four types of Battery Preheaters are available:
- The Battery Pad Preheater&trade for sizes 8D (10.5" X 19.5") and 4D (8.25" X 13") is placed beneath the battery to ensure that all of the heat produced rises up into the battery. 120v
- The Battery Wrap Thermal Preheater, placed around the battery warms the battery from the sides that are the most exposed to the cold. The Preheater is enclosed in a vinyl cover that is durable and fire retardant. Available in 28", 36" and 72". 120v
- The Battery Mat Preheater&trade adheres to the side of the battery and is suitable for automobiles and light trucks. 120v
- The Battery Compartment Preheater&trade is used for emergency lighting equipment that operates when 120v power is lost. It will warm the battery compartment and in the process keep small batteries functional longer. Emergency lighting equipment in walk-in freezer applications and outdoor toilet facilities are among other applications that would benefit from this type Preheater&trade,. 120v
